Zero-downtime NPAC transfer · Upgrades VoIP to CMRS Wireless · Free port-in on all plans
When your port completes in the iconectiv NPAC, your number's SPID and LRN switch from a wireline VoIP aggregator to a Tier-1 US wireless network.
How to Port Your Google Voice Number in 5 Steps
Google Voice locks numbers by default to prevent unauthorized transfers. Here is the exact checklist to unlock your number and prepare your credentials.
Open google.com/voice/unlock
Sign in to google.com/voice/unlock on a computer (or go to Google Voice Settings › Account › Port your number) and click “Unlock my number” next to the 10-digit US number you want to keep.
Complete Google's unlock confirmation
If Google originally assigned your number, Google charges a one-time $3.00 unlock fee via Google Pay. If you originally ported that number into Google Voice from a mobile carrier (or use Google Workspace Voice), unlocking is $0.00. Confirm the status reads “Unlocked”.
Set your Google Voice Voicemail PIN
Google Voice does not issue a separate transfer code—your Voicemail PIN is your official Porting PIN. Open Settings › Voicemail, set a 4-to-10 digit numeric PIN (e.g., 4829), and toggle “Call to listen” ON so the PIN is active.
Gather your 10-digit Account # & ZIP
Your Account Number is simply your 10-digit Google Voice number with no dashes or spaces (e.g., 5125550142), paired with your Google Pay billing ZIP code. Important: Never delete or release your number inside Google Voice!
Activate your SecondSim eSIM & submit
Install your SecondSim US eSIM and enter your 10-digit Account Number, Voicemail PIN, and ZIP in your dashboard. Your calls and texts keep working in Google Voice until the exact minute the NPAC cutover activates your eSIM.
Porting Credentials & Timelines by US Provider
Under FCC 47 CFR § 52.35 (Local Number Portability), US providers must release your number once valid credentials are submitted. Here is where to find your Account Number and Porting PIN across major US apps and carriers.

What is my Google Voice account number and porting PIN?+
Your Google Voice Account Number is simply your 10-digit Google Voice phone number without dashes or spaces (for example, 5125550142). Your Porting PIN is the numeric Voicemail PIN you set inside Google Voice Settings › Voicemail.
Does porting a Google Voice number to SecondSim make it work with Zelle, Chase, and iMessage?+
Yes! When you port a number from Google Voice, OpenPhone, or Sideline onto a SecondSim US eSIM, the Number Portability Administration Center (NPAC) updates the number's Service Provider ID (SPID), Location Routing Number (LRN), and line classification from Wireline/VoIP to CMRS Wireless. Within 24 to 72 hours after the port completes, carrier lookup caches refresh and your number works with Zelle, bank 2FA, and native Apple iMessage (blue bubbles).
Will I lose calls or texts while my Google Voice number is porting?+
No. During the 1–3 business day intermodal port window, your number remains completely active inside your Google Voice app. At the exact minute the NPAC broadcasts the cutover, your SecondSim eSIM takes over incoming calls and texts seamlessly.
Should I cancel my old VoIP app or carrier line before porting?+
Never cancel or delete your number before the port completes. A number must be active to be ported through the NPAC. Once the transfer to SecondSim finishes, Google Voice (or your single-line carrier account) automatically releases the number.
